Maurice Woolfolk

First, of all before I begin to tell you about me from beginning to end I must acknowledge the author and finisher of my faith, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I was born April 17, 1978 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Growing up as the only child, I wasn't spoiled I just got all the attention, and I had a lot of time to get lost in thought (INTP) without the interruption of a sibling.

At a very young age I played little league baseball. I enjoyed sports and was very athletic as a child. My mother enrolled me in piano lessons at about the age of twelve. At first I had no real desire to play the piano. I was just playing to make my mom happy. All through out elementary and high school I played in different types of school bands. In elementary school (IPS#103) my first wind instrument was the clarinet, and the bass clarinet. In junior high school (IPS John Marshall) I played the alto and tenor saxophone. In high school (IPS Broadripple) I auditioned on the piano to be in a special program called the magnet. When I was accepted into this program it strengthened my musical skills by offering private lessons, music theory, music history, musical field trips, and concerts. Also in high school I played saxophone in concert and marching band, and played in jazz band.

In church around this time I would put together little singing groups and write songs to sing at special events at church. I was very active in my church youth group whether it was playing the piano or just participating. When I graduated high school in 1996 I went to Martin University a semester then I transferred to Butler University to major in Music Education. While at Butler I examined other options and switched my major to telecommunications. Next, I transferred to the University of Indianapolis and continued to pursue my degree in telecommunications.

While attending the University of Indianapolis in my second semester my father died. He died April 16, 2001 at 11:30pm, when I found out it was April 17, 2001 my birthday. I'm not for sure what he died from, even though my mother and I had an autopsy done, and the autopsy reported that he died from a heart attack. I don't know if it was a coincidence that he died three-four weeks after having a major and possibly unnecessary surgery on his stomach at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Lafayette IN. I think that doctors and the practice of medicine is a blessing, but I get mad at the idea that some doctors could use people as human guinea pigs.

Overall, I'm a cool laid back kind of guy who loves the arts, especially music. Furthermore, one of my most favorite passions is playing the piano. I love to play jazz and gospel. Also, another passion in the arts I enjoy is the martial arts. I enjoy working out and practicing Kung Fu. My next passion is in the literary arts, I love to read books; especially self-help/motivational, philosophical and religious books. I'm currently a professional pianist, piano teacher and realtor. I absolutely love what I do, God has really blessed me!
